The Top Down Review of the Official Statistics System called for leadership by the Government Statistician of the development of the Official Statistics System, including a strong programme of statistical research.
The Official Statistics Research programme (OS Research) has been set up within Statistics New Zealand to commission and fund research on the usefulness, reliability, coverage and availability of the statistics produced and held in the Official Statistics System. The programme funds projects that involve collaborative research between government departments, academia and private researchers. The results of funded projects will be disseminated via the web, conferences, seminars and academic papers.
