The Professional Statisticians Network has been set up for statisticians and research analysts working in the State sector. The aim of the group is to help ensure access to ongoing professional development and training. The network discusses common concerns (such as recruitment, development and retention) and holds seminars and workshops on relevant statistical topics.
Statistics New Zealand held the network's inaugural meeting in August 2005 and facilitated the first specialist workshop in November 2005. Meeting facilitation is shared between departments.
