Unit standard 25440

Statistical research project

This unit standard will require the candidate to carry out a statistical research project in a state sector context.

Unit standard 25440 is aimed at people who are employed in the state sector, in positions where they are required to interpret statistical data and report on their research results.

People credited with this unit standard will be able to:

  • plan and carry out a statistical research project
  • prepare and communicate the research report
  • evaluate the research project.

Candidates have the option to either complete a new research project or use existing work that they have completed (in their current job), provided it was completed within the last 2 years. The candidate's manager will be asked to attest that the work was completed by the candidate themselves and that the report meets organisational standards for research and reporting.

Candidates will be supported by Statistical Education and Research through tutorials and informal supervision. For more information please contact certificateOS@stats.govt.nz.
