Official Statistics Research (OS Research) has an annual call for Expressions of Interest (EOI) every January. This stage is now closed for the 2008/09 funding round. Applications for the 2009/2010 funding round will open in November 2008.
To register your interest please read the funding programme policies and the assessment criteria and guidelines. Complete an Expression of Interest (EOI) application form (Word, 140KB) and email it to osresearch@stats.govt.nz. Emailing your EOI to OS Research indicates your acceptance of all programme policies.
Your EOI will be assessed in February 2009. The selection panel will consist of Statistics New Zealand and other public sector, academic, and/or private sector employees with research and statistical methodological knowledge and experience relevant to the set priorities. The panel will rank the EOIs using the criteria outlined in the assessment criteria and guidelines.
Applicants will learn in whether their bid was successful and the panel's comments will be included. Successful applicants will then be invited to submit a full proposal.
Once invited to submit a full proposal, an applicant must complete a full proposal application form, again ensuring understanding of and agreement to the funding programme policies and assessment criteria and guidelines. Receipt of a full proposal is acceptance of these terms. Completed forms should be emailed to osresearch@stats.govt.nz no later than 25 March 2009 (subject to change). The selection panel will then determine which projects to fund.
The selected proposals will be submitted to the Government Statistician for final approval. We anticipate that all applicants submitting full proposals will receive information on the outcome by April 2009.
Statistics New Zealand and the Crown Law Office have written a contract specifically for OS Research. Contracts will be negotiated with successful applicants.
