Official statistics seminar series

Upcoming seminars | Archived presentations

As part of the Official Statistics System, Statistics New Zealand is relaunching the Official Statistics System Seminar series. These seminars will be held in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch and will cover a wide range of topics ranging from agriculture to the economy.

The seminars will allow statistical analysts and other interested professionals from governmental and non-governmental organisations to come together to exchange ideas and opinions. The gatherings will range in format and will provide a forum to present statistical findings of interest.

Seminars will cover a wide range of information about the Official Statistics System and will include the results of intensive research, the discussion of ideas, interactive workshops, and the opinions of international experts. If you have an idea for a topic and/or wish to recommend a speaker we would like you to hear from you.

The seminar series aims to:

  • build a greater shared commitment to the Official Statistics System
  • generate activities that build inter-agency cooperation and involvement with the Official Statistics System
  • recognise the achievements of those already presenting and publishing their findings outside Statistics New Zealand
  • further develop leadership of official statistics by demonstrating Statistics New Zealand's expertise and the critical mass of statistical capability across agencies involved in the Official Statistics System.
